Karen McCormick began her banking career with First Fed as a teller and retired 32 years later, in 2009, as First Fed’s President and CEO. During her tenure, she held leadership positions with the Federal Reserve Board’s Thrift Institutions Advisory Council, American Bankers Association, and Washington Financial League, in addition to numerous civic and community organizations. In 2003, Ms. McCormick was named one of “The 25 Most Powerful Women in Banking” by U.S. Banker Magazine. She was a founding board member of First Fed Foundation and served as the Foundation’s first executive director before passing the baton to Jan Simon in 2019.
